Will there be an athletic trainer present during camp? Yes! Indiana Day Camp will have a full-time student trainer from the Indiana University Athletic Department. Does my child need to bring a lunch to camp? Little Stars and Half Day campers should bring a snack to camp. Full Day campers need to bring a snack and a sack lunch to camp. Indiana Soccer Day Camp will also provide concessions with a number of drinks, foods, candy for your child to purchase throughout the day. What equipment should my child bring to camp? Shin guards are required for all campers. Soccer shoes or sneakers are fine for Little Stars and young campers. If wearing cleats, campers should also bring a pair of flat soccer shoes or sneakers for indoor activities. All campers must bring a water jug. Please clearly label all items with camper's name, including cleats, as most cleats look the same! If my child has never played soccer will he/she fit in at camp? Absolutely. Many of the campers are beginners once they enter this camp. This camp is designed for all skill levels. In fact, we encourage your child to bring a friend that has not yet been introduced to this exciting sport to help spread the passion for soccer in schools around Bloomington. If my child is a very advanced player can he/she play up an age group? If your son is excelling in his/her camp group, the staff coach and camp director will make a decision whether or not your son would benefit by moving to an older age group. What will you do in case of inclement weather? Grandview Elementary has given Indiana Day Camp tremendous help by allowing our camp to use their facilities. During times of inclement weather we will have access to the gymnasium to continue teaching camp skills as well as the lunch room and auditorium for soccer films and trivia. All we ask is your child bring indoor shoes with him/her each day to camp. If I am running late to pick up my child will a staff member stay until I arrive? Please make every effort to be on time as Grandview custodial staff members close the building each day promptly at 3pm. However, a camp director will always stay in the parking lot after camp until every camper has been picked up. Does my child need to bring a water bottle to camp? Yes, each child should bring a water bottle. It is recommended that Full Day campers bring a larger water jug. There are water coolers available for refilling jugs. Does the camp have a lost and found? Yes. We will keep a lost and found box close to concessions throughout the day. Please double check your child every day upon picking him/her up to make sure they have their cleats, shoes, shin guards, lunch box, and water bottle as lost and found items add up quickly.
