What is the cost per camper per session?
|
| The fee for one session of winter camp is $205.00 (hotel and transportation NOT included) or $295.00 with hotel and campus transportation (between hotel and campus.) |
Who can attend? |
| The camp is open to boys (sorry, we do not accept girls at this time) aged 14 and up. Field players and goalkeepers are welcome, however goalkeeper slots are very limited and will fill up quickly. This includes two year college players in both their first and second year of eligibility. |
| Are housing and meals provided? |
| No, however, there are a number of restaurants close to the hotel. |
| Do you provide transportation from the airport to the camp hotel? |
| The camp does not provide ground transportation, but we can recommend the Bloomington Shuttle Service (800) 589-6004 or Classic Touch Limousine (800) 319-0082. However, once you arrive, there will be a shuttle to transfer players to and from the IU Memorial Union for all camp sessions. |
| Hotel Accomodation? |
| Out-of-town campers will be staying at the newly rennovated camp hotel, Crown Plaza, located at 1710 N. Kinser Pike (right off campus.) 812.334.3252. The camp-discounted $90 rate for two nights is included with the Camp/Hotel package. Roommates will be assigned unless otherwise specified. All reservations within this hotel must go through iucamp to get the discounted price. Transportation to and from the hotel will be provided by IU Camp. |
| What is the camper to staff ratio? |
| The camper to staff ratio will be about 8 to 1. |
| Will campers have access to athletic trainers? |
Yes. Athletic trainers will be present during and before all training sessions. |
| If camp is full do you have a waiting list? |
| Yes. We do accept names for a waiting list and there is always a good chance at getting into camp due to cancellations. |
| When do we need to sign up? |
Campers are taken on a first come first serve basis and enrollment is extremely limited. |
| Is there a discount for children in the same family or team discounts? |
| NCAA rules prohibit any type of discounts for high school aged campers. |
| What should my son bring to camp? |
| Players should bring all of the equipment necessary to play soccer. This includes both flats and soccer shoes, shin guards and a soccer ball. Goalkeepers should bring all the equipment they need to play inside on artificial turf. A checklist will be sent to you prior to camp in December. |
| When will I receive confirmation or registration? |
| An e-mail will be sent to confirm acceptance after registration and payment have been completed. A letter will be sent no later then December 15, 2009 to confirm camp particulars, hotel information, session enrolled in, and directions to camp. |
| Will I be refunded if I need to cancel? |
Due to other applicant requests being turned down at the time of your acceptance, there will be no refunds as of November 1st, 2009. |
| Will the facilities at IU be available for weight training, conditioning, or individual soccer work? |
The boys will be training hard and will require rest and rehydration between sessions. However, if they are set on using facilities for some reason between sessions, there is a local SRSC on campus (812) 855-7772 where they can go for a $6 fee only if they are 18 or older. |
